HR Advice & Guidance (Case Management)

We currently provide case management services to Southampton City Council, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council (BwDBC), 350 Cumbria schools and the Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS). Our capabilities include discipline & grievance advice and case management, employee relations and TU negotiations, and policy advice and guidance.

Our HR forum means we draw on expertise across Capita to ensure advisors are up to date re. best practice and employment law requirements. We are also able to ensure that knowledge is retained and can bring in qualified resource at short notice to support any ‘peaks and troughs’ in activity.

Our service to SCC has seen some impressive results in terms of the reduction in live cases being managed since the introduction of the Management Academy - since April 2008, the live cases managed has dropped from 80 -100 down to 60 with a consequent staffing level reduction in HR advisors from 21 FTE to 13.5 FTE. Also of note is that the percentage of cases going to tribunal is very low at 0.4% and the percentage going to appeal is also low at 2% - a testament to the success of the partnership and in particular the Management Academy.

Proactive analysis of casework MI enables us to work with Strategic HR functions to target interventions to departmental ‘hot spots’.
